I've been a gamer since the early 80s. The first game I remember seeing was Asteroids on the Atari 2600, and I was hooked from that moment on.
Then I remember playing arcade games like Shinobi, Double Dragon and Golden Axe at the supermarket in my small Western NY hometown. Those were the best.
But some of the fondest memories I have are gaming with my friends in high school. We would all gather at my buddy's house and spend all night playing Sega Genesis, eating Doritos and drinking Mountain Dew (it's honestly a miracle we survived).
Even since the first days of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) magazine, I followed video game news, previews and reviews of the latest new releases. I've always wanted to start my own gaming magazine but in 2026 the idea of a print magazine is a bit limited (although it can still work well - check out Edge Magazine).
I started ElectronicGamers.NET as an alternative to other gaming review and commentary sites which are typically riddled with ads (sometimes the ads are so bad that you can't even get the pages to load properly or they crash every few minutes - I'm looking at you IGN). My hope is that I can put together a coalition of passionate gamers who want to write about games, and connect them with equally passionate readers who crave a different approach to their gaming news.
If you have any suggestions or feedback for me, please email me at "electronic gamers .net @ gmail.com" (I put spaces to try and avoid bots from spamming me - just type it all without spaces and it should work fine.)
Now Playing: Demon's Souls (2020), Elden Ring (again! I'm on like NG+++++), Saint Slayer and Replaced
If you would like to help support my writing or EGN you can buy me a coffee at Ko-Fi or become a member of our Patron's Club at Patreon.com. I'm planning lots of cool exclusives for our supporters, including some unique play-along game club ideas.
